Storm On Somersley

For those of you who don't know, Somersley Estates is a family RP community in SL. This past week, My daughter Harper  and I were lucky enough to rent and move into 800 Navarita Lane on Pleasant Valley. Gabrielle Somersley and her team were extremely helpful and more than willing to help us get situated in our new home.  I haven't had the opportunity to meet many neighbors yet, but the few that I have are wonderful.  There is so much to do in the community, its amazing! There's an elementary and preschool for your children,  a hospital for any medical need you could possibly think of, a police and fire department who patrol the streets on a regular basis, weekly garbage pick up, a newspaper, a movie theater, a bank, an actual court house and SO much more! Well, imagine our surprise when we heard our first weather report and a severe storm was predicted to roll through Somersley! The storm started Friday with heavy rain and lightening strikes (in our own driveway!). People were reporting tornado sightings and power outages all night long. What we saw on Friday was nothing compared to what came through on Saturday! There were huge tornado's and flooding and several houses were destroyed, one of them being ours!

Thankfully, we got out in time and no one was hurt. The police and firemen showed up right away and made sure everyone was safe and escorted us to the shelter where a nurse looked us over to be sure we weren't injured. They gave us food and took good care of us until we were allowed to go back to what was left of our homes.

Now that things are back to normal, I have to say I am really impressed with the Somersley community. If you're into family RP or looking for a home with the community feel, definitely check it out!
