I dig my toes into the sand. 

The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket. 

I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless and in this moment I am happy.

Things never turn out the way you start them.  This picture for example became the exact opposite of what I originally was looking for.  I had something more city and cable cars and sunshine in mind.  Some days SL searching scares me though and I will not share with you what some of my search results for very innocent seeming things yielded.  When in doubt I seem to always find my way back to Gilmour and I am never disappointed with what photo magic ends up happening there.

I decided to move a bit out of my comfort zone.  Aric mentioned a live photoshop editing he wanted to watch one night and I joined him.  (You can see his flickr work HERE)  I was floored at the level of work that was going in to this portrait and at the same time I was flooded with all these amazing ideas of how to do things I had never thought of before.  I was unable to watch the edit in its entirety but even the bits I caught just opened my eyes and made me want to spread my wings a little to improve myself.  If you ever see one come across flickr I strongly encourage you to dive in and watch.  This is the artist I got the pleasure of watching:  Rebekah Lyter .  So thank you for sharing Rebekah! :)

Well it seems the 8th of the month is always a devastating time for my bank account but a very happy time for me.  Collabor88 was fantastic in my personal opinion and I tackled the event with as much gusto as a girl has at 7am with a cup of coffee.There is so much to highlight and this is a small sampling of what is available.  

Ison has released both the pants and the shoes I am wearing here.  Both are available in a range of colors and worth the demo.  I am a pretty basic pants girl so I stuck with the classic denim look here but I splurged on the seafoam shoes.  You know I do not fatpack as often as I probably would love to, but hey, we all have to have a budget.  That said, Auxiliary .. god what you do to me.  If you pop over to my flickr you can probably see the ring better I am wearing, the melting hearts are just amazing and I was not about to buy a single color.  Nor was I with these shirts because they are amazing.  They also come in a cropped version which is just the ruffles.  The D!va hair was of course worth a demo, I do love the ginger tone that gets a special release for the event.  And of course I bought out every Maxi Gossamer item there.  It is hard to see my necklace here perhaps but trust me when I say to go and check it out in person.  The details are outstanding.

Sometimes we all just need to kick back a little, listen to some music and love life.  Our Second Life roller coaster rides can be sometimes just as crazy as our real life ones.  We have ups and downs, bumps in the road and lord to we have drama on Second Life.  If you claim to be drama free then you either need to play a lottery ticket or quit lying.  (I tease I tease... maybe.)  Either way its good to get back to your roots once in a while and enjoy yourself and remember why you are here and who keeps you coming back.  My rock is my sister.  Life made us friends, love made us sisters.  And she was indeed kind enough to endure my whimsical retro backdrop while I made all kinds of horrid faces at her from behind this record.

Have we discussed, lately, just how in love I am with Darwin? Seriously...after my marriage to Mr. Mayo has expired, Darwin is totally next in line! So yesterday, he dropped on me...not one, but two   items of awesomeness! Two! First, he collaborated with Anaiya Solo of [Pretty Liar] on these omg-so-effing-adorable glasses! I get so excited over cuteness...and I seriously squealed when I was playing with the texture change hud and I saw polka dots! Polka dots and bows, people, come on! Squee with me! Most of you know Skylar and I take the bulk of our pictures on a platform.  We actually build a lot of our scenes.  I honestly thought this was normal but it appears it is not necessarily the case.  Qopi was visiting with us and commented on the fact she did not think people sometimes realized the work that went in to building a scene for a blog.  I never looked at this as work.  I looked at it as fun.  To me it is an artistic expression.  And so the two of them sat down on a couch up there winging out furniture and ideas, picking accessories and wallpaper with me until this picture fell into place.  It was honestly not what I intended, I had a very different scene in mind but sometimes the building of a picture takes on a life of its own.  I know it is dark for some, but I personally like this piece a lot.  I especially had fun adding the touch of the bloody handprint.  I guess I am a bit twisted.

The World I Know

This weekend has been so full of goodies, I can barely stand it! Friday started out fantastic with the What Next wood burning stove and the adorable Lisp chairs that match the sofa's out at the current round of Collabor88. (I absolutely love, love, love, this set!) The, yesterday, I stumbled on this super cozy sweater and skirt combo from U.F.O. at SBG. I couldn't wait to get home and get cozy and dream of cold winter nights, snuggled on the couch in front of the fire. ♥

Oh! And this skin from Auxiliary at Collabor88 - I absolutely adore it! I can't take it off!
